As u all have known, I've decided not to go for Yanzi concert 2006.

But things turned out..

It was a super discounted tix at a look-like-super-good-seat.

Met up wit Meow Meow (my boss for the day) at Marina Sq for dinner after drums. Obviously her stomach CANNOT go on the diet which she had initially wanted to. Made our appearance at Kyonishin (I think dat was the name), a Jap restaurant situated at the very very corner of 2nd floor. It was deserted other for like 3 occupied tables.

All these + 2 canned drinks for a price of $27.70. The ramen was good, the soup base was good. I think its even better than the cook-2-days-soup-base ramen at Tanpopo in Liang Court. At least its not so MSG-laced. Only makes me wonder how they survive with such a low table turnover rate.

Went Suntec for a little walk b4 going to the bus-stop for a bus to Indoor Stadium. Bus 16 was crowded to the brim and we comtemplated of taking a cab but the private (and quite empty) bus 608 arrived.

Had to go thru a security check b4 going inside. I have to freakingly deposit my drumsticks at the lockers lor. And I was thinking maybe my camera will kana 1st but it was hidden in a pouch (So many others bringing camera in oso mah). MY DRUMSTICKS!! WAT! Scare I throw on stage issit.. -.-" I din even have to deposit it for MayDay lor. So irritatedly I looked for ppl to change $1 coins and left my drumsticks at the lockers. Ahh! I know! Mus be the zahbor security dun like my face, then wan to give the lockers business. Mus be it!

We were so happy when we reached our seats bcos I had actually expected the privileged rows to extend for abt 10 rows. There's only 4 rows. But actually the privileged rows (The $198 seats) are not that great. They are not able to see the whole stage lor. Only good thing is can see Yanzi close up when she comes over occasionally. Then we noticed the band. Wat the hell! I'm always following the band. Jay like dat, Yanzi oso like dat.


I'm fascinated by these steel structures.

After waiting for abt an hr, show finally started at 8.45pm. Really Singaporean culture. Like those wedding dinners which will almost guaranteedingly start an hr late.

Shock shock horror horror! We're situated at the "BACK STAGE!" Growl! So thru'out the show, I see Yanzi's back the most. And I thot the floor plan shows side stage.

The equipments keep koking up and so we got bored. The atmosphere wasnt even high. People are still sitting in their seats. Even the fanclub at the opposite side are also at their seats even thou they're standing. The MY fanclub had on their bright yellow club tees and seated at the other side (Supposedly front stage in Jay's concert).

FIR!!

Woah F.I.R REALLY got the audience to life. They brought the house down with 3 numbers, appearing in the middle of 第一天 (Expected), then its Lydia and 爱的力量. I think 第一天 is already a representative song for Singaporeans. Seems like a lot of the audience noes how to sing it. MayDay did it for their concert, now Yanzi and F.I.R (It was written by all 3 and sung originally by Yanzi). But still, F.I.R vs MayDay.. The guys still win. (Go F.I.R concert confirm sing until voice hoarse.. pitch too high!)

End of concert.

The concert, from start till end, is NOT HAPPENING AT ALL! Perhaps only for FIR segment. The audience are so guai at their seats and tis is the 1st concert I'm in my seat thru'out. Only standing for like ONE SONG(?) when she requests a Kallang wave. There is no one running to the front to take pictures, absolutely no chaos! The 1st ppl I see running to the front was during F.I.R's segment lor.

I think this "encore" thing is already INBUILT as part of a concert. There'll DEFINITELY be an encore and songs that are representative of the singer would be in it. That's y u dun get to hear Ti Orh Orh in the main part, nor is 绿光 there.

Her this concert, TOO much dancers, TOO much intervals (aka the dancers), TOO much costumes (aka the dancing intervals). Somehow she is not able to "high" the crowds and somehow, her voice sounds kiddish last nite. Doesnt sound like her in the albums leh. Hmm.. And Y THE HELL I HAVE TO SURRENDER MY DRUMSTICKS! *still pissed*

After the concert, we saw a bus captain posing with a black/bored face holding a board which directs the crowd to the bus stop. Went home on a new SBS service that the bus captain was promoting. Stadium Direct to Boon Lay. Tampines, Bedok and another place I couldnt rem. By the time u reach ur estates, u're still able to catch the last few buses home. This is gonna give the cab drivers tough competition. Its $2 flat rate for adults, compared to the $20++ + midnight charges. See! Cannot be so sly anymore, hiding until midnight then pick up customers. Ur customer crowd is shrinking already.

End of the day, I can only say, I saw Yanzi in person (+ F.I.R). HaHa!
